Theory of inflation is widely accepted as the best approach to theproblems of the Early universe in the standard cosmology. The originand nature of the physical field that determines the inflationaryprocess are not well known. A popular class of inflatory models isbased on the effective tachyon field theory determined by theLagrangian of the DBI type. The potential role of tachyon fields inexplaining the mechanism of inflation is based on the highly welldeveloped string theory, M theory and brane theory, and its closerelation to the current development of quantum gravity. The focus inthis PhD thesis is on holographic cosmology, Einstein's effectiveequations in the 4-dimensional holographic boundary, and AdS/CFTcorrespondence. Analytical and numerical calculation of theobservable parameters and their comparison with observational dataindicate the validity of the model.
