Opis (srp)

The dissertation presents an analytical framework for definingevapotranspiration as a sustainable mechanism in the urban hydrologicalcycle. Familiarity with evapotranspiration is important for a large numberof hydrological issues in cities.Quantifying evapotranspiration in urban conditions of Niš, as well as theefficiency of existing predictive methods and developing new equations fordefining water requirements of reference crops, represent the aims of thisstudy. For the analysis of the set aims, weather data were provided from thefollowing: local automatic stations, evaporators and meteorologicalobservatories in Niš.Six empirical equations were used for the purpose of modeling referenceevapotranspiration, the accuracy of which was determined by comparingthem with the FAO-56 Penman-Monteith method. The analysis of resultshas showed that the Priestley and Taylor method exhibits the bestperformance, but the results have indicated the need for further adaptationof the method to local conditions. The equations were calibrated using optimization methods (geneticalgorithm and particle swarm optimization) to best fit the measured data. The sensitivity of the reference evapotranspiration to meteorologicalparameters was examined in order to achieve the most efficientoptimization of the methods. The sensitivity results showed thatevapotranspiration is the most sensitive, in defined urban conditions, tochanges in solar radiation and maximum air temperature. The performanceof the optimized equations was evaluated using statistical indicators thatrevealed the Priestley and Taylor method and the Stephens and Stewartmethod as the best optimized methods.By applying multiple linear regression, new equations were developed forthe purpose of calculating evapotranspiration with a limited number ofdata, which has especially highlighted the method based on the ratio ofminimum and maximum temperature and solar radiation.
