According to the International Labor Organization, costs of occupational injuries amount to about 4 % of the GDP of each country which are huge financial losses. Also, according to the European Environment Agency, costs of environmental pollution at the national level amount to 2.5 to 7.9 % of GDP. In order to companies remain on the market, in modern business is extremely important to effectively manage all the expenses. Reducing costs in the area of occupational health, safety and environmental protection is achieved by standardizing and applying various measures and procedures that affect the improvement of the performances in this area. The paper is dealing with the impact of implementing the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards to improve the performance of occupational health, safety and environmental protection. In the process of making the paper, for confirmation set hypotheses, were further researched and analyzed the theoretical foundations in the field of occupational health, safety and environmental protection, occupational health, safety and environmental management systems according to OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards and the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards. A key part of research are collecting and analysis of data on the implementation of the requirements of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards in a particular sample of companies, determining connection between the application standard requirements, by improving performance of occupational health, safety and environmental protection as well as setting up a model for measuring the impact of application requirements of the standards OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 on improvement of performance in occupational health, safety and environmental protection. A number of statistical methods of descriptive and inferential statistics were used during the processing of empirical research data. Based on results of statistical analysis, has been set model for measuring the impact of application requirements standards OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 on improvement of performance in occupational health, safety and environmental protection and the proposed hypotheses are confirmed.
