The postulates of Holland's theory indicate that each person tends to the congruent environment and that greater congruence of the employee's interests and working environment leads to better work outcomes. This study examined the relationship between the personenvironment congruence of Holland's and spherical model and burnout and job satisfaction among employees. The sample consisted of 436 citizens of the Republic of Serbia who work for salary irrespective of their formal status. Personal Globe Inventory (PGI) was used to measure vocational interests, Brayfield scale - Rothe Scale of Overall Job Satisfaction was used to obtain measures on job satisfaction, and burnout was measured by The Bergen Burnout Inventory. A new approach was used to assess the characteristics of the work environment by estimating the degree of similarity of the activities in PGI instrument and activities in the work environment of a employee. The questionnaire of the work environment has a threefactor structure that consists of dimensions People-Things, Ideas-Data and Prestige. The results showed that the spherical model explains the structure of the relationship between the 18 Tracey’s environmental measures. The study indicated statistically significant and low correlation between person-environment congruence of Holland 's and spherical models and burnout and job satisfaction among employees. Correlation between person-environment congruence of spherical model and burnout and job satisfaction was not exceed 0.30. Correlation on sub-samples indicate that correlations of congruence and outcomes of work do not exceed 0.30. The strongest effect of moderation has age on the relationship of congruence according to the Holland's and spherical model and burnout and job satisfaction. The results also confirmed the moderating role of gender on the relationship of congruence to Holland's model and burnout and job satisfaction. Also, the moderator effect of the education on the relationship between congruence by Holland model and burnout was also established. In the end, it can be concluded that the results of this study confirm the adequacy of postulates of Holland's theory about the importance of person-environment congruence.
